Lieber Professor of Experimental Therapeutics (Psychiatry) andArea of Research: Biophysics/Ion Channels, Synapses and Circuits, Models of Psychiatric DisordersSpecialization: Structure, function, and regulation of G protein-coupled receptors and neurotransmitter transporters; mechanisms of action of amphetamine and cocaine; structural studies of bacterial transporters.

At present, there are approximately 250 faculty members with appointments in over 20 departments across the University and Medical Center campuses that invest some or all of their time in neuroscience. They include Nobel Prize winners, members of the most prestigious societies, and discoverers of cutting-edge technology and therapeutic interventions that have brought benefits worldwide. Together they generate more research funding than any other group of neuroscientists in the country. Faculty members have used these funds to establish pioneering centers, institutes and programs in a wide range of neurological and psychiatric disease areas, theoretical and computational neuroscience, epidemiology and bioethics.
