There are 150 postdoctoral fellows in the laboratories of the department’s faculty. They receive support from several sources, including two NIH-sponsored training programs in Vision Sciences and Neurobehavioral Sciences as well as the Howard Hughes Medical Institute. Columbia’s Office of Postdoctoral Affairs provides a wide range of services for postdoctoral fellows at the university. Applicants for training may apply either to one of the two NIH training programs, or, more commonly, directly to a faculty member of interest.
